OH PRIORAT! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?

Some wines you taste. Priorat you fall for. This tiny, dramatic corner of Catalonia makes some of Spain’s most soulful, mineral, age-worthy wines — and once it gets under your skin, there’s no going back. This week, we happily surrender to it.

Five wines take us from a bright, breezy white through a delicate Garnacha rosé and into the deep, brooding reds that made Priorat famous. Old vines, steep slate slopes, serious wine — poured with zero ceremony.

🍷 What makes Priorat so special?

Priorat is one of only two regions in Spain to hold the very top “DOQ/DOCa” classification — the other is Rioja. What sets it apart is the ground itself: llicorella, a black slate and quartz soil that forces the vines to dig deep for water, giving tiny yields of intensely concentrated fruit. Add old-vine Garnacha and Cariñena clinging to near-vertical terraces, and you get wines that are powerful yet mineral, structured yet soulful — the kind that can age for decades. It’s one of the wine world’s great love affairs, and tonight you’ll see exactly why.

🥂 Secrets de Mar Blanco — Clos Galena
A bright, breezy white from Clos Galena’s vineyards in neighbouring Terra Alta — a fresh, easy way in before Priorat takes over.

🥂 Murmuri — Mas Doix
A fresh, mineral white of Garnacha Blanca & Macabeo from Mas Doix in Poboleda — citrus and stone fruit with that unmistakable slate-driven tension.

🥂 Scala Dei Rosé “Pla dels Àngels” — Cellers de Scala Dei
100% Garnacha from high-altitude old vines at the very birthplace of Priorat. Delicate and fragrant — wild strawberry, rose petal and a cool, stony freshness. Once named one of the world’s best rosés.

🥂 Les Crestes — Mas Doix
Mas Doix’s vibrant young-vine red: mostly Garnacha with a little Syrah and Cariñena, grown on steep llicorella slate. Juicy, perfumed and pure Priorat energy.

🥂 Galena — Clos Galena
The grand finale: a deep, structured Priorat red — Garnacha and Cariñena with a Mediterranean twist of Merlot and Cabernet. Long, layered and built to age.

This isn’t a sit-back-and-sip evening — it’s a conversation. Martha Ardila, Martha’s Vineyard’s owner, leads every tasting hands-on: pouring, sharing the story behind each wine, and genuinely wanting to hear what you think. She loves understanding why a wine speaks to you — the one you’d take home, the one that surprised you, the one that wasn’t for you. She’ll invite you to score your favourites and, if you fancy it, to say a few words about which you loved and why. Join in as much or as little as you like — questions are always welcome.

By completing this booking you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

Consent

You warrant that you are over 18 years old.

Group Coordinator.

In order to book your event we require a single coordinator of your group. As the Group Coordinator you are responsible for all communications with Martha’s Vineyard. You ensure that all group members are at least 18 years old. You will be responsible for the payment of any deposit and final payment at the event. The final payment may be split between members of your group but you take sole responsibility that the final payment is completed in full.

Deposit

To Conform your booking we require a 50% deposit of the total payable amount for your event. The balance must be paid before the event.

Changes to Booking

You may make changes to the number of guests in your party prior to the event provided that you do not fall below the minimum acceptable group count of 10. You must inform Martha’s Vineyard of your requested changes and receive confirmation that the changes are acceptable. Please note: You will not be able to remove guests from your party within 5 days of the event. You may add guests to your event up until 2 days prior to your event.

Refunds

Once you have completed your booking you may request a refund of any deposit if you cancel your booking.
Up to 14 days prior to the Event – 100% refund
Up To 7 days prior to the Event – 50% refund.
Less than 7 days prior to the Event – no refund.

Please note that if you wish to cancel the booking entirely or in part less than 3 days prior to the event you will be required to pay the full price of the event. As group coordinator you are solely responsible to complete this payment on or before the date of the event.
